• It is not that a big problem as made out to be, because global warming has been happening always since earth’s creation.
• Your effort alone will have no effect on the world at large.
• Who cares what will happen in future? I live for today, so why should not I enjoy it now?

You cannot be any more wrong. Global warming is a problem that is not specified to one country or one continent. It is a worldwide problem, and like it or not, you are a part of this world. Therefore, like ripples that appear in the surface of water when a stone is thrown in it, the consequences of global warming will reach you eventually.

You may not be living in the island nations that are in great danger due to increase in sea level; but do not think that you are immune from it. Have you ever thought where the people of these nations will go to, when the islands start to submerge? Would you deny that the humanitarian problem that will arise, would not affect you one way or another? If rivers dry up and fertile lands turn into deserts, the ensuing food shortage will affect you. It’s true that global warming has been always happening, but not at this accelerated pace. Never underestimate the power of an individual, in changing the world; it took one person to show the world that non-violence can defeat even the mightiest rulers. Lastly, you do not own this world; you are just a caretaker for the future generation. It is your moral duty, to give them a world, fit for living, just as your ancestors gave it to you.

The Steps For Saving This World

Reduce, reuse, and recycle --- these should be the motto of your life. Reduce your consumption of material things, as well as resources like, energy, water, and so on. Reuse things that can be reused, so that less rubbish is generated. Walk to nearby destinations and use office pools or public transport. Make sure, you use energy efficient applications and bulbs. Support alternative energies like, solar energy, hydro energy and wind energy. Even safe, clean, nuclear energy is better than burning fossil fuels to generate energy. Educate the young on why it is necessary to conserve. Recycle should be an everyday habit rather than a passing fad. Pressure your government to be more environmental conscious and make laws to protect our world. All these will ensure that we save this world for our future generations.
